The Great Internet Celebrity and Artist's Auction to benefit The Shri
Babaji Charitable and Research Hospital is currently seeking donations
of autographed Artwork and and personal belongings. We are asking for
your cooperation in helping spread the news about our cause. Please
forward this message to your friends, other lists, etc. All help in
spreading the word and locating donations and celebrities is most
appreciated!!
The hospital is named in honor of Shri Babaji who was so concerned about
the living conditions of the Kumaon people that He instructed his
devotees to build a comprehensive health care center for them. Shri
Babaji is acknowledged as the Shiva Mahavatar Babaji described by
Paramahansa Yogananda in Autobiography of a Yogi.
In the Hindu tradition, a Mahavatar is a human manifestation of the
Divine who can materialise a body at will. The hospital serves the
Kumaon region (in the foothills of the Himalayas) of India. The Kumaon
people are extremely poor, and they suffer from a range of diseases that
could be easily cured if adequate medical facilities were available. We
started with seven health care professionals working on the side of a
mountain in October of 1995. Offering the only medical attention in an
area with a projected population of 1 million inhabitants has proved to
be quite an undertaking. says Ellen Levand , President of the American
Haidakhan Samaj.,
The Great Internet Celebrity and Artist's Auction, a web site designed
to raise funds for the hospital, is auctioning donated art and personal
items from celebrities as well as many artists,and musicians.
aurora.blue, is still soliciting contributions to the auction, which
will run indefinitely. Proceeds from the Auction will go directly to
the hospital, which is financed by donations and government grants.
Donations are tax deductible.
aurora.blue is a non-profit Artist's project of the Internet with a
spiritual and humanitarian conceptualization.
