we are awaiting another new interfacial lifting...
a better up-grade version to come -
well lets see it..

interfacial changes are crucial. we know that they shape knowledge production.
so we just hope that it is going to really be better.. since I still long for the early really dialogical bulletin board interfaces where one massage was automatically linked to the next one without hiding or disappearing into a box.

again, that change will force us to interrupt our stuttering here.

to everybody who wrote or just visited my on going ‘reading seminar’ I would like to say thank you and express hope to see them again soon on the new interface.....

now, BOOK STEALING:
the new york times - dec. 7 97, p 3 in the metro section has a nice article about book stealing entitled: the BEST-STOLEN LIST
it is interesting to mark what is stolen where in manhattan:

downtown
taste: beat writers
most stolen: ‘junkie’ by william’s s burroughs
other favorites: kafka, marquez

upper east side (and this might really express some of the dissatisfaction certain people in privileged positions seem to suffer - note the book titles)
taste: travel books and best sellers
most stolen: “Another City, Not my Own” by dominick dunne
other favorites: “Branded Youth and Other Stories,” by bruce weber
(aren’t the titles just wonderful)

upper west side:
taste: deconstructionist philosophy
most stolen: History of sexuality, volume 1, by foucault
other favorites john ashbery
(do some people have here some sexual problems - or is it just money?)

now, for the holidays I just quote you the remarkable end of this article:
“Perhaps people shouldn’t be so concerned by all this theft. ... At least there are people left who still want to read”

all these people who “still want to read” - I wish to see you again back here with a new interface.... ((do we really need a face lifting?))
